New Kayak - Geezer's got to play

While Geezer Al has always made these trips in a unique or high performance kayak, Geezer Mike has been paddling a 16' tupperware container. Not anymore!

Last weekend we drove to CT to look at a composite 17' Chesapeake. Plywood hull in dark blue, cedar & mahogany deck with birdseye maple trim. Absolutely gorgeous! Problem is, the cockpit didm't quite fit Mike's rather generous frame. But the boat was so doggone pretty he just had to have it. So what does a geezer do when faced with a beauty like that? Take a SawzAll to it, of course.

We are in the process of renovating the cockpit combing, moving the seat, adding bracing and some other small improvements. We will keep you informed - hopefully it will float!

  1. Do you have enough clamps on that thing, or what?

  3. What a beautiful looking boat, is that birdseye maple on the deck? I guess you had to clampdown on how much work you were putting into it!
